Clay Norris was selected as Tacoma Power’s Power Management Officer in 2015. Clay’s responsibilities include operation of Tacoma Power’s hydroelectric generating projects, resource planning, marketing and selling wholesale power, energy research and development, distributed energy resource development, voluntary renewable power program, energy efficiency services, and electrification efforts.
Clay has more than 30 years of utility experience, including a role as division director of power resources for Eugene Water & Electric Board, senior vice president of planning and marketing for ElectriCities of North Carolina, and various positions at Illinois Power Company. He has a B.A. in math and physics from Illinois College, a B.S. in electrical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology and an MBA from the University of Illinois - Springfield.
Clay has served on several regional and national boards and executive committees, including Energy Northwest, the Public Generating Pool, Public Power Council, North American Energy Standards Board, SERC, and the North Carolina Transmission Planning Collaborative.
